Great Concert
Attended specifically to see the Black Veil Brides. They were awesome as always, but I think the sound quality could have definitely been better. It overpowered AB’s mic. It was hard to hear his vocals at times, making it hard to sing my favorite songs along with him. “Ded” was good for not knowing much about them and In This Moment was simply phenomenal!! Their sound quality was much better and the dramatic performances by Maria were simply amazing. The balloons and confetti were an added fun bonus! It was a great Halloween concert, and I appreciated the bands thanking everyone (the fans). It was also very cool of Maria thank her band and crew. She took the time to introduce them, which AB didn’t do with BVB.
Phenominal Show by In This Moment
In This Moment put on a stupendous performance. The music, showmanship (more appropriate to say show-person-ship), and the professionalism was outstanding. It seems unfair that a talent like Maria Brinks and In This Moment do not get the accolades and attention that "pop" stars do. Maria goes on stage and belts it out her metal screams and then can sing melodically with the same finesse. Meanwhile pop stars lipsync, and get all the airplay. It is also unfair that metal bands that have a female lead, do not get the same airplay that male-lead bands (that don't have a fraction of her and her bands talent).
Disappointing All Around
The concert started late. It was after 6:15 by the time Cherry Bombs came on the stage. The amount of down time between groups was a little longer than most other concerts I've attended. Starting with Sleep Token, the sound was horribly distorted. On top of that, the cigarette smoke stench was overbearing at times. So much for a smoke free facility. Maybe the designated smoking areas need to be further away from the doors and air handling system. After leaving the venue, our clothes smelled like we had been chain smoking at the even. How disgusting and concerning for an asthmatic! Nothing More was a gokd act, but again the sound was horribly distorted and diffict to listen to. The 45 minutes of down time between Nothing More and In This Moment was excessive. The sound distortion was so bad, over half her words were drown out. Very disappointing since ive seen this group in another venue and it was amazing! I felt like this was a huge waste of time and money. Ended up leaving early. Very disappointed in the quality of the show. Unfortunately this has been a problem frequently in this venue. Makes me not want to see other performers at this venue.
